Hello! Welcome to the Warren G. Harding Middle School Choirs webpage. Here you will find information on the ensembles available at Harding Middle school, as well as some information on the current director.
Harding Choirs
Here at Harding Middle School, there are three choral ensembles available:
6th Grade Choir, Treble Clef Choir, and Bass Clef Choir.6th Grade Choir
6th Grade Choir consists of 6th graders new to the choral experience. The purpose of this ensemble is to teach the fundamentals of music as well as build ensemble skills for later choral experiences. Within the class, we focus on expanding takadimi rhythm syllables that students previously learned from elementary music. We also explore the voice in a variety of ways, using vocaleses and literature to learn more about the human voice.
Treble Clef Choir
Treble Clef Choir consists of 7th and 8th grade students who have experience in choir. The purpose of this ensemble is to expand on their knowledge of music and ensemble skills as well as build a foundation for those who elect to join choir later in middle school. We work on takadimi rhythm syllables as well as hand sign solfege so that our students begin to sight read sheet music.
Bass Clef Choir
Treble Clef Choir consists of 7th and 8th grade students who have experience in choir. The purpose of this ensemble is to expand on their knowledge of music and ensemble skills as well as build a foundation for those who elect to join choir later in middle school. We work on takadimi rhythm syllables as well as hand sign solfege so that our students begin to sight read sheet music. Bass Clef Choir also serves to teach students about the voice change.
